Rest and recovery, 30 or 60 minutes

Float Tank

Warm salt water takes your weight. The room goes quiet, the lid closes if you want it to, and the week slowly lets go.

Design concept of the float room with a black float tank, lid half open
Illustrative design concept, not a photograph.

The first few minutes feel strange. Nothing to hold, nothing to hear. Then you stop noticing the water, and the only thing left is your breathing.

What happens on the day

  1. 1ArriveA few health questions, a look at the room, and a moment to slow down.
  2. 2SettleLid open or closed, lights on or off. Then we leave you to it.
  3. 3FloatThirty or sixty minutes of nothing at all.
  4. 4LingerA warm shower, then tea in the lounge. No rush.

What you might notice

Everyone is different. This is what people tell us most.

  • A quieter head
  • Shoulders that have come down
  • Walking out slower than you walked in
  • A deep sleep that night, for many

Benefits

Floating removes almost every signal your nervous system usually has to process: weight, light, sound and temperature. With nothing to react to, the body settles into a deep rest state.

Floatation is a wellness practice, not a treatment for anxiety or pain. If you are managing a condition, keep seeing your GP as well.

First time? Your questions answered

Can I keep the lid open?

Yes. Open, closed, or somewhere in between. Change your mind whenever you like.

What if I fall asleep?

Many people do. The salt keeps you floating face up.

Will the salt sting?

Only in a cut or your eyes. Keep wet hands away from your face and you will be fine.

It is for you if

  • You cannot remember the last time you heard nothing
  • Your shoulders live up by your ears
  • You want an hour where nobody can reach you

Before you book

If any of these apply, tell us in your enquiry. We check it is safe before your first session.

Talk to us first if you have

  • Open cuts, a fresh tattoo or a skin condition (the salt stings)
  • Epilepsy or a heart condition
  • A pregnancy, or if you feel claustrophobic

This is an overview, not a complete list or medical advice. If in doubt, ask your GP first.
